Dr. Lawrence Winkler graduated from
Queen’s University and University of Manitoba. He has an internal
medicine practice in Nanaimo, Canada and is an internal medicine
consultant at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital. He has been medical
director at NRI since 1999. Dr. Kevin Lai graduated from University of Witwatersrand. He is a general internist and an intensivist at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital. He has been medical director at NRI since 1999. Diane Johnston, RN BScN graduated from the Vancouver General Hospital School of Nursing and attained her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from the University of Victoria. Her work experience includes nursing administration, teaching, critical care, coronary care and post anaesthetic recovery. She has worked as a research nurse at NRI since 2000. Jill Bonnell, RN graduated from Foothills Hospital School of Nursing. Her work experience includes medical-surgical, emergency, day care surgery, endoscopy, intensive care and post anaesthetic recovery. She has worked as a research nurse at NRI since 2000. Gail Hannah, RN graduated from Nursing from British Columbia Institute of Technology. Her work experience includes neurological and general intensive care, coronary care, post anaesthetic recovery, emergency and teaching. She has worked as a research nurse at NRI since 2000. Andrea Cameron, RN BScN graduated from Vancouver General Hospital School of Nursing and attained her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from University of Victoria. Her work experience includes medical-surgical, post anaesthetic recovery, emergency, general & cardiac surgical intensive care. She has worked as a research nurse at NRI since 2006. Michael Armstrong, MHA, BASc, RRT graduated as a respiratory therapist from Southern Alberta Institute of Technology, completed his Bachelor of Applied Science in Chemical and Biological Engineering from the University of British Columbia and is currently completing a Masters of Health Administration from UBC/Sauder School of Business. His work experience includes multiple clinical areas and the pulmonary function lab. He has worked as a research coordinator at NRI since 2006. April Robinson, RN graduated from St. Joseph’s School of Nursing. Her work experience includes coronary care, intensive care, emergency, primary care, medical day care and teaching. She has worked as a research nurse at NRI since 2006. Yoshie Shimura, RN BScN graduated from Matsudo Municipal Hospital Nursing School and attained her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from Malaspina University-College. Her work experience includes cardiac angiography and telemetry, medical-surgical and intensive care. She has worked as a research nurse at NRI since 2007. Jeannie Gomolchuk completed the accounting program at Malaspina University College. Her work experience includes comptroller, accounting assistant and bookkeeper.
